Alyssa brings six years of experience advising large, global corporations on highly sensitive and complex legal matters. They have developed an expertise in data privacy and employment law matters and are bringing that expertise directly to your small to mid-sized business. Throughout their career, they have helped companies of all sizes prepare for and respond to cybersecurity incidents and data breaches, as well as created policies and procedures that are compliant with the complicated landscape of data privacy laws and regulations. They have specialized experience in the rapidly growing area of artificial intelligence (AI) where they have advised companies on the legal risks, ethical considerations, and employment implications of different technologies. Alyssa has also helped businesses of all sizes create contracts, prepare employee handbooks, and create and implement relevant policies and procedures to protect their business interests.

Academic and Leadership Foundation.

Alyssa’s commitment to excellence began at Case Western Reserve University, where they graduated cum laude with honors in Political Science and Sociology. They continued their academic journey at the University of Virginia School of Law, where they focused their studies on employment law and data privacy. During law school, Alyssa held several key leadership roles, including serving as the Executive Editor of the Virginia Law and Business Review, the Treasurer of the Virginia Employment and Labor Law Association, and the Vice President of Professional Development for the Lambda Law Association. 

Personal Commitment to Community.

Growing up in Northeast Ohio to small business owners and living in Lakewood as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Alyssa founded AMD Legal with a clear mission: to serve and uplift the communities that shaped them. Throughout their career, Alyssa has provided pro bono assistance to trans and gender-diverse individuals across Ohio seeking assistance changing their legal names and gender markers. Alyssa also serves as the General Counsel of a local non-profit, ensuring community organizations have access to low- and no-cost facilities designed to support their operations and amplify their impact. Alyssa is dedicated to the mission of ensuring LGBTQ+ families have access to culturally fluent legal counsel to secure their parental rights and protect their family structure.
